Thundering Herd of Robots (THOR) and Doyenne Inspiration

Hello all,

This will be our second blog post for our new blog, and a lot has happened this past week! We have some competitions to go over, as well as some future plans.

This past weekend, we had the honor to participate in two separate competitions, THOR (Thundering Herd of Robots) and Doyenne. The TerrorBytes were particularly excited to compete in Doyenne, a Female and Nonbinary exclusive robotics competition that promotes inclusivity in STEM. In both competitions, we made it to the final match, but sadly were not able to take home the win. These competitions showed the prowess of our new robot, renamed Backorder, which we made over the summer. We are currently preparing to compete in our next competition, Rumble in the Roads, an overnight competition on November 4th and 5th.

We are preparing to host our next open event for the first time in a few years, MiniFRC 8! This is the long-awaited next event in our series of competitions that was shut off in 2020 due to COVID. While massively popular in 2020, it was sadly shut off before it entered its next installment. We will be continuing this series with MiniFRC 8, which will be running 2016’s game Stronghold. The date has not been decided yet, but it will be announced on our social media when it is ready to play!

That’s all for this week, but there is a lot more to come in the upcoming weeks.

Thank you for tuning in!
