Blog 3.0
Hello all,
Our third blog post has finally been released! We have a lot to cover in this blog post, such as our Rumble in the Roads competition and the beginning of Mini FRC.
On November 5th, the TerrorBytes competed in the Rumble in the Roads competition in Newport News Virginia. Our two robots, Backorder and Tempest, both competed in the same alliance during the elimination bracket, but unfortunately we ended up losing. Regardless, Rumble in the Roads was an amazing experience and it made us more excited for our upcoming competitions.
Our kickoff for MiniFRC started on Thursday, November 10th. We had an amazing turnout, and our participants split up into teams. We started collecting our robot parts and making some prototypes, and we’re excited to get together again!

Blog 2.0
Hello all,
This will be our second blog post for our new blog, and a lot has happened this past week! We have some competitions to go over, as well as some future plans.
This past weekend, we had the honor to participate in two separate competitions, THOR (Thundering Herd of Robots) and Doyenne. The TerrorBytes were particularly excited to compete in Doyenne, a Female and Nonbinary exclusive robotics competition that promotes inclusivity in STEM. In both competitions, we made it to the final match, but sadly were not able to take home the win. These competitions showed the prowess of our new robot, renamed Backorder, which we made over the summer. We are currently preparing to compete in our next competition, Rumble in the Roads, an overnight competition on November 4th and 5th.
We are preparing to host our next open event for the first time in a few years, MiniFRC 8! This is the long-awaited next event in our series of competitions that was shut off in 2020 due to COVID. While massively popular in 2020, it was sadly shut off before it entered its next installment. We will be continuing this series with MiniFRC 8, which will be running 2016’s game Stronghold. The date has not been decided yet, but it will be announced on our social media when it is ready to play!
That’s all for this week, but there is a lot more to come in the upcoming weeks.
Thank you for tuning in!

Blog 1.0
Hello all,
We, the TerrorBytes, are happy to share the first official post of our blog in a very long time. Alongside the inauguration of this blog, we would like to share a number of recent events and accomplishments.
Over the course of the last month, we selected sixteen new students to join the ranks of our team out of a massive pool of sixty talented students. We look forward to integrating these new recruits into the folds of our team and will dutifully commit much of our time in the coming weeks to this process.
After months of planning and labor, we have also completed our off-season robot, Tempest 2.0 (the picture on the bottom left). This new robot deviates mainly from the old design in that it utilizes swerve-drive, enabling omnidirectional movement which will allow us to complete the tasks of Rapid React with speed and efficiency. We will have a chance to test Tempest 2.0’s skills at the upcoming Thundering Horde of Robots and Doyenne competitions this weekend.
However, there’s no way we are letting Tempest 1.0 get rusty! We got a chance to show it off at a farmer’s market event last weekend in front of a crowd that totaled 384 people. The entire event was organized by our wonderful TerrorParent Lynne Privette.
Thank you for tuning in!
